SAFE SocietySAFE Society

Thank you to SASCU for ongoing support of our programs and services! We could not do the work we do without caring community members and organizations like SASCU that give back so much to their community. Your contributions make our mission to "end violence in the Shuswap" possible!

Christina HarrisTurtle Valley Donkey Refuge Society

The Turtle Valley Donkey Refuge has been rescuing and providing for them a loving, permanent home for over 20 years. SASCU Credit Union has been our financial partner every step of the way, providing financial resources, advice and support. Along the way we have been successful in applying for and receiving small and large community grants, the most recent to assist with the completion of our Green Pastures Project to increase the number of fenced and irrigated pastures for our donkeys and mules. Thank you, SASCU, for your ongoing support and encouragement.

Thank you SASCU!

In July we hosted our 42nd annual Okanagan 4-H Stock Show. We had a wonderful turnout of kids from all over BC. Kids participated in beef judging, showmanship, and project classes.

Chris & I just logged 2 hours for 'SASCU Holiday Elf'! Hopefully we made a few peoples' day brighter! Thanks SASCU for the chance to give away free stuff! Look for more SASCU elves in the days to come, and be sure to support our local Downtown business while you prepare for Christmas.
Non-Profit: SHUSWAP ASSOCIATION OF WRITERS | WORD ON THE LAKE WRITERS' FESTIVAL 2022

Thank you SASCU!

Our grant was used to support two community events at the Word on the Lake Writer's Festival—Cafe Lit and Saturday Night Entertainment. Your support helped with honorariums, sound & lighting equipment rentals, and with providing light snacks for attendees on both evenings. Cafe Pit was an evening of readings and music by 9 different presenters. Saturday was a program of stand-up comedy (Charlie Demers), songs by the Peekeekoots, and a rousing ukulele sing along led by Anne Fleming, the presenter. Events were open to anyone and with no registration needed. It was a great time!

Kamloops Symphony
The Essence of Mahler

Thank you SASCU!

The Kamloops Symphony presented a concert in the Nexus at First on March 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The concert featured Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, with guest conductor Nadege Foofat, and guest soprano Kimy Mc Laren. The orchestra comprised of 27 professional musicians. Over 125 audience members attended the performance, and based on the audience reactions, and comments received afterwards, it was deemed an artistic success.

We all know what weekend it is... Roots & Blues weekend! 🎷See SASCU's Community Crew today and Friday at the SASCU Box Office (Main Gate).
Shuswap Children's Association - Storytime in the Park Summer Bash

Thank you SASCU!

The Summer Bash at Blackburn Park on August 10th was a blast. Children enjoyed playing on bouncy castles, listening to stories from Okanagan Regional Library, interacting with St. John's Ambulance Therapy Dogs and reading a free book while enjoying an ice cold freezie treat. Thank you SASCU for your support!

On behalf of Shuswap Association for Community Living, I would like to thank SASCU for their generous donation towards our work truck.

For the past several years, the people we support have been collecting bottles and recycling for local businesses with our associations van. We have outgrown our van and have been hard at work fundraising for a work truck. We want to be able to offer the hard working people we support flexible employment opportunities that fit their life.

Thanks to SASCU we are one step closer. Our goal is to purchase the truck in the spring of 2023. I will be sure to post an update.
We're committed to giving back to the community!
