Stories of our community involvement
IN THE COMMUNITY

If you don't know by now ....
Pembina Co-op is proud to support local organizations in our communities. Our Food grains Fund helps support local farmers seed, fertilize and harvest a crop solely for the purpose of donating it to the Canadian Food Bank, to help others in need.

Pictured below is Audrey Paschke representing BMW Foodgrains project and our very own Mitch Bohrn, Agronomist at Minto Agro Centre. Each year Pembina Co-op donates $1000 to each project (up to 5 projects can apply).

"Once again, on behalf of the R.M. of Prairie Lakes and Prairie Lakes Rec, we extend our heartfelt thank you for your generous donation of food and gift certificates.

The summer camp kids thoroughly enjoyed their final day and your donations made it possible to provide lunch and goodie bags for each child. We hosted a draw for the 4-$50.00 gift certificates which was won by four of the camp kids' parents:
Kally Yeo
Carita Keskevaari
Denise Andries
Sheryl-Lee Waters

Organizations like Co-op are the backbone of rural communities and your contributions make it possible to carry on activities such as this for kids, which otherwise may not be feasible.

Thank you."

We are proud to be able to donate to Souris School's outdoor classroom project! This project has been spearheaded by local Grade 5/6 teacher Johnathan Filewich, who was nominated for the NHL's Most Valuable Teacher contest earlier this year. We are thrilled to see this project one step closer to completion and bring outdoor learning to the students of Souris School!

We are thrilled to see that the roof repairs on the Hillcrest Museum are completed! The Souris Home Centre was able to donate approximately $6000 in materials to assist in completing the project. Sending out a big thank you to all of the Museum board members for organizing this fundraiser and ensuring this landmark will stand in our community for years to come!

Pembina Co-op has joined the growing movement of businesses who care about local causes by accepting the Good Company Community Pledge with Do Some Good ! Here’s what we believe in:

• We believe in standing together - Our community is only as strong as our most vulnerable.
• We see the individual - Our employees are people, not positions. If a cause matters to them, it matters to us.
• We understand choices matter - What we do or don’t do today becomes our legacy tomorrow.
• We believe in generosity - We give time, money and expertise to causes that matter to our customers.
• We know impact comes from action - Awareness is not enough; we work to create positive change.

We believe business can be a force for good!
LEARN TO DO BY DOING!
If you have been involved in 4H or know someone who was involved in 4H ... you are well versed on the 4H pledge and the motto!

BUT DID YOU KNOW ...
that Pembina Co-op is a proud supporter of our community 4H clubs. Each year, we donate (upon request) to 4H clubs by providing $25 per member enrolled. Much of the donations go towards the clubs fees, achievement day and the 4H communications events.

4H has a solid reputation for providing young people with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and promote confidence as kids "learn by doing".
