Thank you so much to FirstOntario Credit Union! Your commitment to our annual Strides For The General run/walk since 2017 has made a vital difference in enhancing patient care at Hamilton General Hospital, including the Regional Rehabilitation Centre. We are most appreciative to all the hardworking Blue Wave volunteers who support the event by giving their time on a Saturday. We are grateful to these friendly faces who help us register participants, hand out medals and provide directions to runners. We are proud to call FirstOntario Credit Union a partner of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation. Thank you for supporting health care in our region.

FirstOntario Credit Union and it's staff played a pivotal role in our Foundation's fundraising efforts this past year. Their dedication and enthusiasm while selling 50/50 tickets during our home games helped make it possible for us to raise over $150,000 this past season. Their commitment to volunteerism and strengthening our community was evident each and every game. The money they helped raise was put towards our Breakfast Program which feeds children at 23 local high need schools every day. On behalf of the Hamilton Bulldogs Foundation, thank you for helping make a positive impact in our community.

“I know I can say I’m thrilled to see FirstOntario Credit Union remain committed to SNP programs. I made the first presentation over 10 years ago to the Blue Wave team… just about volunteering in the program, and knew that once the employees got involved and felt the impact of the programs, they would indeed follow through with funding support, which they have done and continue to do.” -Darlene Edmonds, Food and Logistics Coordinator “FirstOntario Credit Union is a dedicated and highly-valued champion for the Student Nutrition Program. Their provision of Blue Wave volunteers has been incredibly beneficial for programs throughout our region, as it is an ongoing challenge to ensure that programs have adequate volunteers to meet the needs of students. If you could put a price on Blue Wave volunteers, they would be invaluable. Thank you FirstOntario Credit Union for your ongoing dedication and support.” -Tyler Arsenault, Regional Supervisor Student Nutrition Program

Team FirstOntario Credit Union in St. Catharines, Hamilton, Simcoe and Woodstock set out to raise $4,400 for the Coldest Night of the Year Walk this past Saturday to support the most vulnerable in our communities. In fact, they raised $7,588 in support of Start Me Up Niagara, Hamilton Mountain with Neighbour to Neighbour Centre, Simcoe with Youth Unlimited YFC Norfolk and Woodstock with The INN of Oxford County. When we work together we can make a difference!

FirstOntario is a strong supporter of the community and in working together to help the most vulnerable. We've walked for the Coldest Night of Year in the past and we're proud to once again sponsor and walk - virtually - on February 20 in St. Catharines, Hamilton Mountain, Simcoe and Woodstock.

A little #TBT to our #BlueWave volunteers who were on hand to help at the 2019 Carpenter Hospice event in Burlington. Supporting our communities is part of who we are FirstOntario Credit Union!

We believe in the importance of helping our neighbours and our communities, now more than ever. To help make this holiday a little brighter for families and individuals, we donated $50,000 directly to local food banks and food assistance programs in our communities. #FirstONCommunity

Time is the greatest gift you can give and we're proud of our #BlueWave volunteers. We took a look back at our support of Neighbour to Neighbour during last year's Pop Up Toy Store. #FirstONCommunity #FirstONVolunteering #TBT
Some of our FirstOntario Credit Union #BlueWave volunteers spread some holiday cheer by writing letters to seniors that will be included in Christmas hampers provided by Good Shepherd and Wesley in Hamilton. This was a great way to support our community in a safe, socially distant way and brighten someone's day during our Season of Giving. #FirstONCommunity
Today we made a $500 donation to the Niagara Toolbox Project that provides socks, toiletries, some healthy food and a gift to men who are homeless or living in poverty in Niagara.

Last year 750 men were helped through the initiative and they are on track to help 1,000 this year. FirstOntario is glad to offer support – including a basket of donations collected by our Operations team - during our season of giving.
