Learn more and upgrade.I started volunteering when I was 10 - from being the teachers helper to helping out at youth groups. It has always been apart of my life. I volunteer because no matter what you are doing it is always rewarding. There are so many negative things in this world, and knowing that you are making a difference and changing peoples lives make it that much better!
Kamloops, British ColumbiaInterior SavingsWhy I volunteered here: We volunteered at The Twin Rivers Education Centre cleaning and sorting books for the Bright Red Bookshelves and the Book Bus.
Why I volunteered here: The ISCU Wealth Kamloops team went to the SPCA to help organize their facilities. From mopping, sweeping, cleaning, and doing 6 loads of laundry! We left that place spotless :)
Why I volunteered here: I volunteered at the ISCU tent - which consisted of "The Great Money Challenge" game and asking the public to fill out our quick and easy survey.
Why I volunteered here: It was National Credit Union Day and we decided to volunteer our time at the BC Wildlife Park to help set-up for their Boo at the Zoo event. We ended up stringing lights up all around the park.
Why I volunteered here: I was contacted by the Kamloops Ambassador Society, asking to choreograph their opening number for their pageant. I was honored - dance is my passion and their mission to promote and empower future leaders in our community inspires me.
Why I volunteered here: Interior Savings paired up with United Way for the annual Day of Caring. We went and helped out at the Interior Community Services Mount Paul Organization. There was about 15 of us that volunteered to assist with painting, moving, and gardening.
What motivated me: I graduated from Fraser Valley Christian High school, once graduated they were in need of a basketball coach. Myself and one of my fellow graduates volunteered our time to coach the Jr.high girls for 2 seasons.
Why I volunteered here: Let's Move Studio brought our hip hop crew together to choreograph a dance for the Dancing Like the Stars Event for the Royal Inland Hospital. We ended up making a video at the Royal Inland Hospital to show at the Fundraiser.
Why I volunteered here: SALI serves at-risk children and at-risk animals. Event planning is my passion and when I found out they had an annual gala to raise money and needed a coordinator, I jumped on the opportunity. It's a great organization and they do amazing work!
