This week we welcome Krista, CLIC Storyteller with the Self-Advocates of Semiahmoo, and her interview with Dea and Dave Brook from Creative Diversity Friends Club--"When people feel safe and supported, they can blossom and grow in amazing ways."

In 2025 we introduced a new component to the CLIC curriculum to increase awareness and recognize the outstanding leadership of local nonprofit organizations. Nominated by Marjorie, Creative Diversity Friends Club received an award of $2,500.

CLIC is a community-centered cohort program established through a partnership with Envision FinancialSFU Surrey, the City of Surrey and the Surrey Poverty Reduction Coalition. CLIC teaches leadership skills designed to help participants navigate and address the challenges they are facing in their organizations, communities, and/or personal lives.
