Community Impact

We'd like to thank Secure-Rite Mobile Storage for stepping up to help local children and families in need through their support of the United Way BC Child Safety Initiative. Their commitment of complimentary storage space for our car seats throughout the Okanagan has helped strengthen vital connections by providing local families with access to the essential safety equipment they need. This year’s initiative raised over $55,000 that translated into 520 car seats purchased for local charities to distribute to low-income families across the Southern Interior and Kootenays. All car seats were free to families and made available through 20+ United Way BC charity partners in local & rural communities across the Southern Interior of BC, including Lake Country, Kelowna, West Kelowna, the Westbank First Nation, Summerland, Penticton, Oliver, Keremeos, Vernon, Lumby, Nakusp, Enderby, Salmon Arm, Sicamous and Revelstoke. The Child Safety Initiative has been transforming the lives of families in need since 2015 and has distributed over 1,200 car seats across the Southern Interior.
United Way British Columbia would like to express its sincerest thanks to Secure-Rite Mobile Storage. Their support is making a profound difference in the lives of hundreds of families across the Southern Interior.
