Peninsula Co-op is proud to once again provide gift cards for the Christmas gift boxes going to K'omoks Elders this holiday season.

Tell us about your organization and what you do in the community

KEAS has been active since 2013 and our purpose is to promote First Nation values that show honor, respect and appreciation to our K’ómoks First Nation Elders living within K'omoks community, Comox and Vancouver Island in a time of reconciliation.

Please briefly describe the program/event

Our purpose is to promote First Nation values that show honor, respect and appreciation to our K’ómoks First Nation Elders; amongst our K’ómoks community, and within the Comox Valley. As a way of expressing our appreciation, we organize a Christmas gift box event with a dedicated group of community members that wish to bring joy to the K’omoks Elders during the Christmas season. Each box has donations by local artists, businesses and companies who wish to support acknowledging our Elders. We have KFN youth deliver the boxes and sing Christmas carols and our event has been highlighted in a CBC Indigenous article which can be found by Googling K'omoks Elders Appreciation Society.
