Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union is honoured to recognize Dorothy Point for her outstanding volunteerism with a SimpleGenerosity Volunteer Award.
Dorothy has been with the South Okanagan Loss Society since its inception in 2017. She has served as a Member of the Board of Directors and has volunteered hundreds of hours through co-facilitating their grief support groups. On an ongoing basis she walks with countless people through their grief journey, taking people from the abyss of grief and helping them come out the other side so they can function again as healthy and happy members of the community.
“Dorothy truly believes in our mission, which is to improve the quality of life for those living with life’s losses. This is difficult and humbling work. Dorothy rises to the challenge, week after week year after year,” shares Max Uhlemann, SOLS Chair.
