We are so proud to make this donation of $4897.08 to the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre to go towards their Traditional Healing Garden project. The Traditional Garden will house programs alongside commemorative events to revitalize traditional knowledge systems, provide skill-building, and host community healing events. This creates a small path forward in our community towards reconciliation and healing.

This donation comes from several methods of fundraising. From cake sensation back in August, where a portion of every pack of cupcakes and cake sold went to this donation, as well as 3% of our food store sales on September 30th and the last portion came from or jean money fund which is where our team donates $3 to wear jeans on Friday.

Our Co-op would not be able to make this donation without the support of our members, patrons and team.

We are humbled to be on this life long journey of truth & reconciliation and we respectfully acknowledge that New Horizon Co-op is situated on Treaty 8 territory, traditional lands of First Nations and Métis peoples.
