Had a great time harvesting grapes at the Mildenstein Vineyards in Glenora on Friday as part of our Annual Make a Difference Days. A big shout out to our hosts Carsten Mildenstein C and his wife Kim who organized the opportunity and will provide a donation for our labour to island food banks through our signature cause The Full Cupboard. It was a beautiful sunny day and was great to reconnect with so many staff members who I haven’t seen in quite a while due to the pandemic. (The last time I actually saw most of these people was at the 2020 grape pick!) We had a lot of fun working as a team, enjoying the beautiful outdoors and fresh air as we clipped grapes and put them into buckets, and then dumped them into a huge container which will be sent to local wine producers. So proud to work for Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union which provides us as staff members the opportunity to give back and make a difference in our communities through paid work time for non-profit organizations and initiatives that help support charitable causes. Special thanks to our hard working team which included Jodi Keller , Audra Leslie , Cindy Manhas , Heather Olson , Rina Lawson and Nichole Murray ! We left a whole lot dirtier than when we arrived, but we left with a sense of accomplishment and pride in a job well done!
