Through our Simple Generosity Program, we heard a story from Robyn in Kelowna how pursuing new and different interests as a family helps them thrive. That inspired us at Valley First to make a $3,000 donation to Building Healthy Families Society! Here’s what they had to say: “Studies and history show that the joy and/or pain in family relationships persists from one generation to the next. Our mission is to preserve, stabilize and strengthen families in our community through education, training and support. We’ve been working with families since 1988 by offering free services and support throughout people’s lives and as they face challenges. Our group and individual assistance helps people with parenting, accessing community services, and dealing with substance abuse in families and its consequence on children. Our Parenting Through Recovery program is an increasing need, and provides positive results, in the community and this donation will help us continue our life-changing program.
