Joon has designated his $1,000 award to the Cloverdale Rodeo Youth Initiative Foundation where he serves on the Youth Advisory Board. The Foundation supports youth through scholarships, community grants, and mentorship opportunities.
In September 2018, Joon founded a service group called Hold High the Torch (HHTT), composed of 26 students from Ecole Salish and Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary. It strives to foster a culture of remembrance and a personal appreciation of our cherished freedoms in today’s youth through community initiatives that remember the fallen, honour our veterans and support the troops, exemplifying Simple Generosity.
