Discovery House supporting local families
We're excited to launch the Community Help Fund, a community initiative of Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union and First West Foundation. The Fund is designed to help local charities raise awareness and funds needed to support their programs and services.
In recognition of Father’s Day and the commitment #Discovery House gives to our dads, we’re donating $500 to their Family Fun event!

Operated by the Penticton Resource Recovery Society (PRRS), Discovery House offers three supportive living recovery homes in Penticton. Discovery House has been helping men to find their path to recovery from drug & alcohol addiction since 2007 and have helped over 500 men change their lives and be restored to their families and communities as productive members of society.
Discovery House offers a peer based, holistic recovery approach employing a 12 step philosophy combined with Life Skills training along with the most up to date evidence based treatments. Peer support and Community Involvement are the cornerstones of our program. We a 90 day treatment program followed by open ended individual recovery programming that and lifetime alumni support. The supports offered to our clients include: addiction recovery services, housing and food supports, medical and mental health support, community advocacy, education, employment and family reconciliation.
We subsidize approximately 75% of client care costs in most cases and do this mainly through grants, generous community donors and fundraising events. Our upcoming Family Fun on Father's Day event will be taking place this year as a Facebook Live event and we're looking for event sponsors and dunk tank participants.
