The Gary Bennett Family Fund and its supporters donated $3,000 towards the Central Okanagan Food Bank’s No Hungry Children program.
Taking advantage of the food banks purchasing power and partnership with the West Kelowna Real Canadian Superstore, funds were spent to purchase baby food, formula, diapers and wipes, assisting pregnant mothers and families with children under the age of one.
Savings through the food bank’s partnership with the Real Canadian Superstore allowed an additional $1,392 worth of product to be purchased.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from the Gary Bennett Family Fund” say Tammie Watson, Interim Executive Director for the Central Okanagan Food Bank. “Each week the program helps approximately 100 babies and 20 pregnant moms, and the addition of these products will go a long way to ensure families have the support they need to provide a healthy life for their children”.
