Congratulations to #SimpleGenerosity recipient from Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union, Kristi Owens! She directed her donation to the Cook Street Village Activity Centre in support of the Cycling without Age program. Kristi has been volunteering with the Cycling Without Age Victoria programs at Broadmead Care and Cook Street Village Activity Centre for over 2 years. Kristi spreads Simple Generosity in our community by being a very positive, high energy, focused and fun founder and leader of the Cycling Without Age Victoria program. Cycling Without Age is a 100% volunteer run program that enriches the lives of participants by reintroducing them to the joys of nature and adventure through cycling. Volunteer pilots integrate exercise into a fun and rewarding social activity. CWA fosters inter-generational relationships between volunteers and elderly passengers as they explore the community on the specialized trishaw. The program is all about Friendships, Fresh Air and Fun and it is Free! Kristi and the team have fund raised so there are now 3 trishaws in Victoria and 21 volunteer pilots. Kristi not only fundraises to grow the program and keep it rolling, she works with the facilities, she plans routes, she trains volunteers, she is a pilot, she organizes events and volunteer recognition. Thank you for inspiring us!
