Last week Branch Manager Craig Keeping presented a $500 cheque to Vanier 4H Club members; Arzeena, Autumn, Tulasi, Colline, Nancy and Joyce (behind the camera). The Vanier 4H Club is a youth-led service group that aims to teach young people skills in horticulture. The group is focused on activities related to sustainable agriculture and organic gardening and, for the 2019/2020 school year, Vanier 4H is looking to expand into bee keeping! The youth members will be planting nectar crops at the Vanier Garden to ensure that the bees have a long period of nectar and pollen collection. Two nucs and bee boxes will also bee purchased and placed in the Vanier Garden along with the required personal protective equipment. Congratulations Vanier 4H!
