The abc |Acton Business Company held their award ceremony today at the Acton High school. Six students in Mrs Virginia’s Huston Grade 10 Business Class developed a business plans and made their pitches to mentors, sponsors and friends. The winning concepts were awarded start-up funds to actually run their business over the summer of 2019 with the backing of an extraordinary mentor team and sponsors.
The goal of the program is to develop a meaningful experience for students and staff that is steeped in the assets of the school and the surrounding community. The community team working with Mrs. Houston includes Kathleen Dills, Halton Hills Chamber of Commerce and Tyler King, Downtown Acton BIA, Beth Paisley, Superior Glove, Brad Fitzsimmons Maturinc and Elizabeth Koc, Tandia.
