Enjoyed a day away from the office with my Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union team mates as part of our Annual Make a Difference Days. We helped to harvest more than 600 lbs of fresh fruit for the LifeCycles Project Society Fruit Tree Project which will be used to feed vulnerable people in our community and create some high quality products like cider and apple cider vinegar. It was tricky work, the trees were bursting with apples and more than a few landed on our heads as we wielded the long basket pickers atop ladders. Sure was great to be outdoors to breath in the cool fall air and rewarding to know that our efforts are helping others as well as our urban environment! Shout out to our Harvest Leader Ben who guided us through the day!
