This holiday season we created our company Christmas tree out of empty boxes and put out the word to all of our Administration staff to help to fill them up with non-perishable food items, toiletries and children’s toys for our local food bank users. Each department picked a theme (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, bathroom, etc.) and went shopping. 3 weeks later we were starting to run out of room in the reception area! The tree was full and there many more boxes filled to the top spilling over. On Friday we loaded everything up (into two vehicles including the corporate van) and dropped off more than 800 pounds of food and goodies to the Cowichan Valley Basket Society. What a great feeling to see what we could accomplish with every working together. Thank you to all of my Administration colleagues at Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union for your support and generosity.
