A big thank you to all of our staff who took the opportunity to participate in an hour long CPR and AED device training sessions that was offered this week as part of our month long Make a Difference Days. Hosted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation the session provided hands on training with a qualified instructor to prepare us for how to make a difference in a situation where it may be critically needed. The session was fast, fun, informative and our instructor made lots of time to answer our many questions. She shared that she herself had become involved as a trainer as a result of a family member having a heart attack and wanting to be more prepared if the situation ever arose again. We were able to welcome five representatives from our community partners at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley and Big Brothers Big Sister Central Vancouver Island to take part in the sessions alongside our team.
