Vote now for Nanaimo Community Hospice Society by selecting an emoji below! Winning the $50,000 SimpleGenerosity grant from Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union would allow Nanaimo Community Hospice Society the opportunity to purchase a van, outfitted with art supplies, toys, games, musical instruments and more. The first of its kind in Canada, the van will provide on location support and programs to children and youth aged 4 to 18 who have experienced the death of a loved one - parent, sibling, caregiver or other close relative. Play, music and art are just some of the tools that our counsellors use for the youngest of our clients to see and understand why they are sad. Our greatest need is to help children and youth at this vulnerable time when a loss occurs. Children cannot communicate in words their emotions and rely on other elements to fully express their feelings. Thank you for helping us celebrate Canada150 and strengthening our communities with SimpleGenerosity!
