Winning the $50,000 SimpleGenerosity grant from Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union would allow Nanaimo BMX Association to install a new Barrel safety gate and rebuild its track, enhancements that contribute to the continued safety of all riders. BMX is a family sport that provides a unique opportunity for all family members to participate at one sporting event. In addition to regular members the track remains open and free to access by the more than 70,000 Nanaimo residents and surrounding communities. Nanaimo BMX inspires and engages the community to excel and be active for life. It’s their desire to inspire the athlete in the heart of all their members, from their tiniest tots all the way up through their youth, and teens who are growing in mind and body, to their moms and dads who come to race - either challenge themselves or to just be active with their kids.
