Study Buddy Tutor - Mandarin and/or Cantonese Speaking

The Study Buddy program matches youth (aged 7-17) with a volunteer (aged 19+) in a one-to-one tutoring relationship.

Study Buddy Program (rolling intake, apply anytime)
A Study Buddy tutor provides a supportive tutoring relationship to a youth who comes from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and who could benefit from the support and friendship of a tutor.
Our experienced caseworkers match our youth (aged 7-17) with you (aged 19+) in a one-to-one tutoring relationship based on your academic strengths and geographic location. You will be there to encourage your Little Sister to improve their educational performance and set appropriate academic goals which will contribute to their overall confidence.
You will meet with your Little Sister for 1 hour once a week for six months to focus on their school work. With the support of your caseworker they will provide you with resources needed to help your Little Sister succeed. With the language requirement you will help bridge the communication between yourself and the parent/guardian.  We are looking for volunteers who live in or are able to travel to Vancouver, Richmond or Burnaby.
